Election in Ukraine didn’t go as planned in the east of the country

Man from Slovyansk writes:
“If Ukrainian mass media will tell you how eagerly citizens of occupied Slovyansk voted – do not believe them. Very few locals have showed up. Rest of voting ballots will be added Ukrainian forces who are occupying the town.”

Elections In Ukraine
Local woman adds:
“I’m proud of Slovyansk! As of noon I can tell that locals have forgotten all about elections. I live near the building in which elections takes place. So, I strolled over to see how they are going. There was almost NO-ONE on the street there. Two elderly women came out of the building. I returned in an hour – I’ve seen three people on the street. Two groups of four men came out of the elections building all men around 50 yo. In a nearby district same situation. I haven’t seen anything like this during previous elections. Of course, I wasn’t expecting such a large crowed as we had during independence referendum, but I was expecting some movement. It’s like a ghost town here today. Out of people I know one guy said: ‘I’ll go draw something funny on ballot’, others say: ‘we don’t need this circus’. I’m listening to the CB radio, in Mariupol and other cities occupied by Ukraine, same situation there. And Petya (Ukr. president) is in Kramatorsk now, so near…”

Video of elections in the town of Kramatorsk:

When I thought I’ve seen it all in Ukrainian elections, from candidates fighting each other, to paying few Hryvnas for a vote, to a candidate in a suite sweeping the street near his poster to get recognition, to throwing opponents into a garbage bin, to candidates traveling to a war zone to kill few rebels on camera. However, I’ve encountered something I have not seen before – one of the candidates into Ukrainian parliament is Darth Vader. You read it correctly, it’s not a typo. One of the candidates legally changed his name to Darth Vader and wears a mask similar to that worn by Darth Vader in Star Wars. UK Telegraph newspaper writes about it: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/ukraine/11188609/Ukraines-Darth-Vader-candidate-denied-vote-after-refusing-to-remove-mask.html
