Kiev militia shoots more civilians, this time in Krasnoarmeysk

May 11, Krasnoarmeysk – Ukraine’s National Guard have taken over a polling station in the city of Krasnoarmeysk during region’s referendum.

Referendum turnout was around 77%. It would have been higher if Kiev militia did not take over local poling stations.

Majority of Krasnoarmeysk citizens came out to polling stations to determine region’s future. Most were near poling stations before noon.

However, when getting to polling station locals met men with guns that came to their city from Kiev and western parts of the country.

Local residents were outraged and refused to leave before they could vote for their future. During an altercation one resident was killed.


After Kiev militia tried to scare people into returning home, many residents refused to do so getting into verbal altercation with armed men that came to their city. One resident was shot while demanding an explanation for Kiev militia’s presence.
