International Brazilian battalion with a name of “Ernesto Che Guevara” created in Donetsk. Commander of the battalion is Brazilian volunteer Rafael Lusvarhi.

Brazilian volunteers are helping locals in protecting their homes and families from Ukrainian army attacks. After legitimate government was ousted in Kiev on February 22, 2014, groups of nationalists took control of the government and the army through a bloody coup. When Donetsk and Lugansk regions refused to recognize new illegal regime in Kiev, Ukrainian army was sent to submit those regions by force.

At the moment Brazilian battalion is helping locals in Lugansk People’s Republic and are under jurisdiction of local Cossacks.

Brazilian volunteers participate mainly in recon missions; however, among Brazilian volunteers are also former artillerymen, policemen and SWAT personnel.
