Scuffles break out as people gather in memory of Odessa massacre victims

August 2, people have gathered in the city of Odessa to remember victims of Ukrainian radical nationalists. When Ukrainian nationalists and various neo-nazis showed up to confront protesters, scuffles broke out. Those who gathered began chanting: “fascists” – toward Ukrainian nationalists and neo-nazis.

Right after a violent coup in February of 2014 in Kiev orchestrated by nationalists, any sign of opposition to the new nationalist regime was squashed rapidly and violently. When people in Odessa have gathered to protest new radical regime on May 2, 2014, violent mob of Ukrainian nationalists and various neo-nazis has moved in to the city to make sure new regime rules unchallenged by people. As a result over 40 protesters have been burnt alive by Ukrainian radicals.
