July 17, Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 was shot down just a few hours ago over Ukraine. Plane was traveling over 10,000 meters above the ground when it was shot down. While Ukrainian authorities blame self-defense forces of Lugansk and Donetsk in firing at the airplane, self-defense forces do not posses weapons capable of reaching such altitudes. However, 27 “Buk M1” launchers are deployed by the Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region, with the capabilities to shoot down targets at an altitude of more than 30km.
Spanish dispatcher which was following Malaysian Boeing 777 has posted in his tweeter account that he say two Ukrainian jets near Malaysian plane three minutes before plane went down.
Some experts are speculating that real target was suppose to be a plane of Russian president Vladimir Putin which was traveling in close proximity to Malaysian plane. Both Malaysian plane and plane of Russia’s president are visually very similar.
Preliminary number of deaths in Malaysian plane crash is estimated at 280. Below is a chart of Boeing 777 passengers by country of origin:
9M-MRO is a number of a Malaysian plane that disappeared in March
9M-MRD is a number of a Malaysian plane that crashed in Ukraine
